VILLA ANNA
GENERAL –
Villa Anna is a large and luxurious 3 bedroom villa with private pool, set in unusually spacious grounds in the beautiful area of Koca Calis. The design of the house and also interior decoration and furniture, have been kept tasteful and modern with a light airy feel, perfect for living in a hot country. All interior floors are tiled in a light colour as is the marble staircase. The level of facilities offered are far better than a usual rental property being more akin to what you would have in your own home. With the inclusion of beds and sofa-beds, the villa can sleep up to 11 people.
The rental potential of this property is excellent with the villa being occupied for at least 16 weeks each summer for the last 4 years.
Solar panels on the roof provide hot water. There are AC units in the three bedrooms and also in the sitting room however the design of the villa keeps it naturally cool and so the AC units are not normally needed. These AC units switch to heaters for the cooler months.
Water is provided from a deep underground well thereby providing a free and plentiful supply of water for the house and pool.
This has been a non-smoking villa and so there are no smells or stains associated with cigarettes.
The price of this villa includes all furniture, fixtures and fittings for the house, pool and garden. We already advertise Villa Anna very successfully on 2 rental websites. These can be transferred to your name to save you the time and hassle of setting these up. In addition, all booking forms and renter information booklets will be passed to you, the buyer, for you to use as you wish.
DOWNSTAIRS -
The spacious and tastefully appointed sitting room has one triple, one double and two single seater comfy chairs, the triple-seater also being a double sofa bed. There is a television, DVD player, satellite receiver and PSP2 to help keep children entertained. For those cooler months, the log fire place is a focal point for romantic and relaxing evenings in!
In addition, there is a traditional Turkish seating area under the open stairs which converts into an exciting Harry Potter style play/sleeping area for children (or adults).
The large dining kitchen seats 6 around the wooden table. For those budding chefs who wish to try conjouring up the local Turkish dishes for themselves, the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. You will find a hob, an oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a kettle and a toaster as well as numerous pots, pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Kitchen units are a light wood helping to maintain the light and airy feel of the villa. There is also a washing machine, an iron and ironing board.
There is a useful hallway cupboard and separate shoe storage opposite the downstairs bathroom.
The large, west facing, mosquito-netted patio complete with stone BBQ is ideal for shaded breakfasts and alfresco evenings watching the setting sun. It contains a large bamboo table and 8 chairs which are perfect for relaxing in or entertaining.
UPSTAIRS -
Upstairs, the vast master bedroom has very deep fitted-wardrobe space as well as a comfy single sofa bed. One of these cupboards stores all of the linen and towels and can be locked to prevent access by renters. A private balcony over-looking the pool, hills and mountains, as well as a shared balcony, lead off this room. The luxurious en-suite bathroom has a big corner bath and shower and storage for towels and toiletries.
Both smaller bedrooms are equipped with fitted wardrobes and double beds and both have balconies.
The large family bathroom has a corner shower, WC and basin.
OUTSIDE -
The large garden has mature trees and plants and includes a large lawn ideal for children. The entire property is surrounded by walls and railings with thick lush planting to provide privacy. Within the grounds is a parking area for one car and also a shed with stone cladding (2x3m) which is useful for storage of sunbeds, pool toys etc.
The 9m x 5m private pool has a curved Roman seating area for those who wish to cool off in style. There is ample space around the pool for numerous sunbeds.
THE LOCAL AREA -
Within a 2 minute walk is our local shop which stocks basic food. The small restaurant attached does the most delicious barbequed chicken and homemade pancakes - they have even been known to deliver to our villa! For a more comprehensive shop, Migros, on the road from Calis to Fethiye, has most things that you would expect from a large supermarket at home. There are also many other smaller supermarkets dotted in and around Calis. Of course, you mustn’t forget the the fabulous markets at Fethiye and Calis where you will find the most wonderfully tasting fresh produce.
Just a 10 minute stroll from Villa Anna is the unspoilt Koca Calis Beach famous for turtles coming to lay their eggs. One of our favourite pass-times is watching the amazingly vivid sunsets while lazing on a hammock, sipping an ice-cold Efes (the local beer) at one of the few beach bars on this quieter section of the coast. Life doesn’t get much better than this! And for the night owls, bars, restaurants and nightclubs are open in the centres of Calis and Fethiye until the early hours.
For the more adventurous, there is the local wind and kite surfing school. Trips are also organised locally for those interested in horse riding along Koca Calis Beach.
Across the turquoise waters of the bay is the fishing town of Fethiye. From here you can take boat trips to the islands scattered across the bay these are equally popular with local Turks and tourists. Sauntering around the old pedestrian area in the evening with its traditional buildings, Kilim (carpet) shops and restaurants is a must. And then you turn the corner and see..... an ancient amphitheatre carved into the foot of the cliff and as you look above you see Lycian tombs carved into the rockface.
Local buses (dolmuses) run every 10 minutes from the road next to Villa Anna, into Fethiye and Calis centre. I have always been incredibly impressed at how efficient, reliable and cheap the service is, with the drivers always being very helpful and buses running into the early hours of the morning.
Whatever your interest, be it historical, sporting, shopping, restaurants and bars or simply lazing by the beach or pool, there is something here for everyone. I challenge anyone to come here and NOT have a fabulous time!
